According to a family tradition, “Aunt Dorothy Heathcock said John Henry was married to Addie prior to being married to Hattie Jobes. John Henry & Addie had a son together and she took the boy, left John Henry and no one every heard from her again.”348

She is listed in the 1900 census with a new husband and her son.
